Invitation to Celebrate Yoga

When we say all are welcome, we mean it!  This is a free event.  Leap day.  Come and go.  It is in the 50+ Yoga Space in Minnedosa.  You can meet our presenters HERE . Here is your invitation, including the schedule for the day.

Leap Day Bliss

We have returned for a second quadrennial Leap Day to celebrate Pat Graham, yoga leader who expanded the practice of hundreds in Minnedosa and the Western Manitoba region.  She passed into the Universe on Leap Day, 2016 and in 2020 we offered our first free Celebration of Yoga in Pat's memory.  It is now 2024 and we are offering another free day of Yoga celebration, this time on a Thursday 2-9pm in the beautiful yoga space provided by the 50+ activity centre at 31 on Main Street South in Minnedosa.  Of course, all ages and genders are so welcome.  Most practices will be gentle and we invite novices to come and observe and listen, because maybe, just maybe a yoga practice will resonate with those who are curious, and they will find a new beginning in their wellness journey. Here are our presenters for our 2024 Leap Day Celebration of Yoga: Erin - Chair Yoga Jenn - Gentle Flow Emily - Restorative Rejuvenation   Heidi - Sacred Sound Bath And here is Pat.  Always with us as we move for

Friendly 15

Friendly 15 minutes, that is. I am posting extremely casual videos to my Youtube channel.  These are for friends, family, or anyone who does not want to commit to yoga but knows, well, yeah, it is a good thing. Watch me move through tech trauma to make these short practices.  It's harder than you think to frame the practice space and be sure the viewer can see what is going on.  Today marks the second one I've done, the first one didn't record properly.  I think I have a system now.  Here is a link to the Friendly Fifteen Playlist .  Don't worry about my mistakes, I sure don't.   I do have yoga teacher certification and am following the lead of many many fabulous yoga guides . I seldom see my friends and loved ones anymore and hope that this might welcome some engagement.  It isn't just for women - but for some reason, women have adapted yoga into their lives, more readily. Come on guys.  Join in. I will make an effort to embed a few Friendly Fifteen practices

Sharing Bliss

My practice has continued to grow. Yoga is not a religion, but when you have a loved one that you know would benefit from a yoga practice but they are so far away from initiating a practice, you find out wishing you could convert them. Here is 5 minute breath and wrist mobilization practice done in a sitting position.   It is for people who have lifestyle issues.  Issues that present a barrier to a regular yoga practice. It is for my sister, and maybe for yours too. Any man can try this practice.  More men can benefit from yoga practice. Children can be introduced by this practice.

That Mind of Ours

Some of us are unconscious of how we socialize.  Others of us can see our own patterns. As I spend these weeks, or possibly months, in self isolation, I have already learned, that running errands has been my main social passtime.  I didn't realize! I smile at passers by.  I chat with store clerks and business representatives as I grab my staples and pick up my necessities. I am friendly. I get the urge to run an errand - just to connect with folks. Ooops!  No Can Do. I am luckier than some though, because  I have lived alone for a couple of decades and am very familiar with having nobody around when I'm home.  That said, in this time of separation, I realize that now I am actually tidying my house for myself, not "in case" someone comes by (which never happened anyway).  The art on my walls is for me.  The nicely folded linens are for me. The clean kitchen is for me.  Why had it taken me a lifetime to learn to make things nice, for me, not for others?  My home is n

A Yoga Celebration

Yoga presenters might offer Yin, or Flow, or traditions or relaxation.  Topic presenters might discuss the obvious, the confusing, the controversial or the interesting.  People who knew Pat Graham but didn't practice with her will of course, be welcome.  People interested in yoga, who have never practiced will be welcome.  It will be a day of kindness, memories and good will.  Save the date. A detailed program of the day is in development.  All, every, each - so,so welcome. Free.
